I have known and worked with Legacy now for over 5 years. They played a key role in the development of my 119 key property in Bridgwater including substantial value-add to the design of the hotel to maximise tradeable space and profitability. Legacy advised on my franchise agreement terms with Accor and Black and White Hospitality and were a key part of the design team during the build phase. A true test of any partnership is how it performs under pressure and Legacy have been a trusted and capable partner during the current crisis for the hospitality industry due to Covid-19.
As part of Tesco’s’ wider review of its hotel usage local to its global head office campus in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire – aligned with the consolidation of UK group resources and the creation of its new development and training academy ‘The Heart Building’ we selected Legacy Hotels & Resorts as the ideal partner to assist us in the review and development of an “on campus” hotel offer. Over the past few years Andy and the team have helped us progress our thoughts, commercial proposal, brand offer and compliant design as active members of the delivery design team. Throughout this process I have been reassured that their approach and contribution has always been closely aligned to us as the ultimate stakeholder which has resulted in us progressing to develop a new generation Express by Holiday Inn with 124 keys. With purchases typically accounting for 35% of the average hotel’s turnover, securing the right combination of price quality and service from vendors is a key factor in conversion delivery.
Across the group, we identify that the greatest asset is held within its people and the teams created within the hotels which we manage. Within the business, there is a wide team of professionals that support and nurture the development of these teams led by a dedicated Officer of Human Resource and Development.
Our Property & Compliance Department’s objective is attaining accreditation in Health & Safety Practices for the hotels by supporting the units in the delivery of statutory compliance and best practice.
