Andy Townsend Chief Executive Officer and Founding Director. A former divisional director of Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, Barratt International Resorts, Hilton UK and Stakis Hotels, Andy brings over 24 years of operational hotel experience, internationally and within the UK at both group and on property 3, 4 and 5 star hotel level. A hotelier, man and boy, Andy was brought up in Wales waiting in restaurants from as young as 14, joining De Vere Hotels in the late 80’s as Trainee Manager from which he took his first management steps with Whitbread Lansbury and Country Club Hotels.

Moving around the UK to various projects to include new builds, acquisitions and disposals, he joined Stakis Hotels in the mid-90’s at Northampton before being appointed, at the time, the groups’ youngest Hotel Manager running its then flagship Dunkeld House Hotel and Timeshare Resort. Dunkeld House proved the ideal testing ground as he then went on to manage the Craigendarroch Hotel & Resort in the heart of Royal Deeside. His profile within the group took him to becoming Director of UK Food & Beverage initially for Stakis Hotels and soon after, Hilton UK. His leisure experience took him to Macdonald Hotels & Resorts in early 2001 initially as Divisional Managing Director for its resorts business and laterally, its management contracts division. Establishing Legacy Hotels & Resorts in 2005, he now heads a team of over 600, representing in excess of 22 hotels across the UK, Jersey and Southern Spain.

Jim Gordon - Group Finance Director and Founding Director.
A Chartered Accountant with 20 years post-qualification experience in a wide variety of industries including 10 years in the hotel industry. Jim started his career in a major CA practice including spells in corporate finance and restructuring.
After qualifying in 1991 Jim worked for in a variety of industries including construction and chemicals before being appointed FD of a MBI backed by 3i in the print and communications sector. After two years working closely with the MD, HBOs and 3i helping turn the business round Jim was asked to join another larger 3i investment in the same sector again to assist in a turnaround.
Jim joined Macdonald Hotels Plc in 2001 reporting to the Group FD. Promoted to FD of the Hotels division in 2002, Jim then negotiated and implemented a £60 million procurement outsource contract for Macdonald Hotels that delivered incremental procurement savings in excess of £6.4 million in three years.
Jim was appointed Commercial Director of Macdonald Hotels in 2004 and was promoted to the main board before co-founding Legacy Hotels and Resorts Limited with Andy Townsend in 2005.

Kevin Skeet - Operations Director
A focused and driven operator, Kevin leads the General Managers within the group with over 25 years of management experience in large branded and non branded hotels both within city centres and the provences, formerly with Macdonald Hotels & Resorts and Horton Estates.

John Robertson - Group Property Director
A seasoned operator with a background in Countrytown Hotels, Macdonald Hotels, Thistle Management and Cunard, John manages all of the companies fire and life safety, health and safety, licensing and compliance policies interfacing with local authorities as appropriate. With the support of a property manager his function delivers property management, energy conservation and efficiency initiatives.
The controlling shareholders are Andy Townsend and Jim Gordon who collectively own 75.8% of the equity.

Andrew Watson - Associate Director E-Commerce and Web Development
With over 8 years of marketing experience within the hotel sector, and holds Post Graduate Certificate in Management for the Oxford Brookes University.
In that time has had exposure to and responsibility for international and domestic brands, latterly as Marketing Director for Macdonald Hotels & Resorts responsible for their 48 hotels and 8 resorts.  During this period Andrew has successfully launched golf, spa and restaurant brands alongside a number of hotel openings and re-launches.
Andrew brings a wealth of marketing knowledge has delivered significant success in both the online and offline environment with particular expertise in customer centric communication programs and ecommerce strategy, combined with extensive budget and project management experience.

Chris Barnes - Group, Tours & Marketing Manager
Offering over 25 years operational experience in catering and UK hotels with private 3 star operators, Mansfield Brewery Plc, Countrytown Hotels and Legacy Hotels from its inception in 2005.
Currently responsible for the day-to-day account management of all FIT partners across Legacy Hotels together with Groups and Tours contracting across both managed and associate properties. Regular contact is maintained with individual group organisers, independent coach operators together with UK and international wholesalers, and the representation of Legacy Hotels within the Group Travel Organisers Association. In conjunction with the executive and regional team, a programme of email and print marketing is agreed and rolled out annually across the portfolio across all segments of the business.

David Biesok – Commercial Director
A qualified accountant with a wealth of experience within the hotel industry. David was previously employed by Hanover International Hotels plc, as Group Financial Controller. His experience also encompasses acquisitions, disposals, project work, and the development / implementation of new accounting systems. Other senior finance positions held within the hotel and leisure sector, include operators Regal Hotels, Queens Moat Houses and Sheraton International.

Helen Parrett - Director of Human Resource and Development
With both hotel, leisure and retail experience at a senior level, Helen's experience in her area of expertise includes Littlewoods Stores, Esslemont & Macintosh, Stakis Hotels, Hilton Hotels and Debenhams Stores.

Juliet Hayes - Director of Hotel Sales
An experienced and established senior sales person, Juliet combines experience from both within the agent community and hotels groups that includes Macdonald Hotels, NIS Europe and the Regal Hotel Group.

Mike Slater – Group Reporting Manager
Following 9 years working in the accountancy profession, Mike has since spent nearly 25 years in the hotel industry with extensive experience gained at both head office and unit levels at Metropole Hotels, InterContinental Group and Macdonald Hotels.

Samantha Hughes - Human Resource Administrator
With a background starting within the automotive industry with BMW, Samantha then digressed to the recruitment and HR function working onsite at IBM Warwick, Warwickshire.
Having just completed the first part of her professional training, Samantha now has 5 years combined experience of advising key personnel on employment law issues whilst providing full administration support across the fully managed hotels in the portfolio.

Teena Giles-Moore - PA to Chief Executive and Finance Director
Having supported Directors for Countrytown Hotels, Macdonald Hotels and Playgolf Holdings Plc over the last 9 years, Teena has been part of the Legacy team since October 2005, one month after it commenced trading.

Tori Ackling - Group Revenue and Distribution Manager
Has a background of Front of House, conference & banqueting, reservations and revenue.  Worked in Hilton and Macdonald Hotels.
