Legacy Hotels & Resorts Limited is a innovative hotel and leisure management services company.
The company's management philosophy is to focus on the attributes of each property, whilst providing the benefits of scale and management expertise which come from being part of a proven, ambitious and expanding portfolio of three and four star hotels.
The managed hotels are operated with a strong focus on maintaining the integrity of each property in it's local market place. An increasing number of investors see the advantage of owning hotels whilst recognising the opportunity provided by placing the day-to-day management of their hotel and leisure assets in the hands of an experienced specialist management company with an impressive track record in the hospitality industry.
Timeline
September 2005: Legacy commences trading with The Bramhall County Hotel in Stockport, The Hotel de la Bere in Cheltenham and The Falcon Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon. These initial 3 properties were purchased from Corus Hotel Plc in a deal in the region of £18.5 million.
October 2005: Legacy signs a long term strategic relationship agreement with Hotelshop Limited to provide a dedicated central reservations service for both voice and web bookings from its base in Droitwich Spa.
December 2005: Legacy secures the management contract of The Chesterfield Hotel in Chesterfield and The Oaklands Country House Hotel near Grimsby. These 2 properties were previously managed by Macdonald Hotels Limited.
March 2006: Legacy ceases to manage the Hotel de la Bere following the acquisition by Nexthold Limited. Folio Hotels then took on the property as a management contract.
July 2006: Legacy signs the management contract for The Wild Pheasant Hotel in Llangollen. This property was previously privately managed by its owners.
October 2006: Legacy sign the management contract of The Aston Court Hotel in Derby. This property was previously leased to Swallow Hotels Limited.
Legacy Hotels & Resorts Limited commences the asset management of the Crowne Plaza - London Docklands following the successful sale from and lease back to BDL.
November 2006: Legacy agrees the management contract of The Rose & Crown Hotel in Salisbury and The Springfield Hotel in Gateshead. These 2 properties were previously leased to Swallow Hotels Limited.
January 2007: Legacy commences the management of The Symphony Bar - A student bar in Liverpool.
March 2007: Legacy wins 'Best First Time Exhibitor' at the BTTF (British Travel Trade Fair) exhibition held at the NEC in Birmingham.
April 2007: Legacy ceases to trade The Bramhall County Hotel following a transaction with Sunrise Senior Living Limited. Management of The Wild Pheasant Hotel ceases following the acquisition by Lloyds Hotels Limited, which results in the creation of the groups 'associate marketing partners' to include 3 hotels in Llangollen - The Bryn Howel Hotel, The Chainbridge Hotel and The Wild Pheasant Hotel.
May 2007: Cosmopolitan Hotels Limited joins Legacy as an 'associate marketing partner' representing The Erskine Bridge Hotel and The Normandy Hotel, both situated in Renfrewshire.
August 2007: Legacy ceases to manage The Symphony Bar following the leasehold acquisition by Korova Negresco Limited.
The Diplomat Hotel in Felinfoel, South Wales join Legacy as an 'associate marketing partner' under the Best Western Hotels’ banner.
Works start on a £2.5 million complete refurbishment and repositioning of The Legacy Falcon Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon.
September 2007: Legacy commences the representation of the Hotel Cortijo Salinas in Ronda, Southern Spain as an 'associate marketing partner'.
November 2007: Legacy secures the management contract of The Royal Victoria Hotel in Llanberis, previously managed by The Real Hotel Company under the Quality Hotel banner.
December 2007: Legacy commences the interim management of The Abbey Hotel in Tintern on behalf of the administrative receivers of the property.
December 2007: Works start on the complete refurbishment and repositioning of The Legacy Rose & Crown Hotel in Salisbury.
January 2008: Legacy secures the management contract of The Botleigh Grange Hotel in Southampton. This property was previously privately operated under the banner of Best Western Hotels.
March 2008: Works finish both on time and within budget, and the launch of the 'new' Legacy Falcon Hotel is completed to a 4 star standard.
Legacy, again, wins an award at the BTTF exhibition for 'Best for Innovation'.
April 2008: The Legacy Rose & Crown Hotel is re-launched as Salisbury's only 4 star property with the benefit of a £600,000 refurbishment.
July 2008: Legacy expands its operations and support services with the relocation to new offices in Henley-in-Arden in Warwickshire.
October 2008: Legacy opens its first new build property with the development of 75 bedrooms, The Legacy Preston International Hotel in Preston City Centre, with Liverpool based developers, BPS Developments Limited.
Legacy signs a management contract to operate The Hampshire Hotel, St Helier in Jersey.
January 2009: Legacy resigns its management contract with The Springfield Hotel in Gateshead, which is subsequently closed pending a disposal under instruction with its Bank.
Legacy completes its first full year of management of The Legacy Botleigh Grange Hotel in Southampton with a profit turnaround of £476,000.
May 2009: Legacy takes over the management of The Royal Hotel in Cardiff which was operated in Administration having been previously operated by Niche Hotels.
June 2009: Work commences on the transfer from Administration of The Wyck Hill House Hotel & Spa in Stow-on-the-Wold in the Cotswold’s in preparation for a re-furbishment and re-launch of this 4 star asset.
September 2009: Following the collapse of the Real Hotel Company, Legacy takes on the management of the former Quality Hotel in Cardiff at junction 32 of the M4. To re-open as ‘The Legacy Cardiff International Hotel’ in November 2009, this 95 bedroom property is set to be a significant milestone in the groups’ continued presence in Wales.
Continued expansion for the Legacy group sees its arrival in Hungerford, Berkshire with the management of The Legacy Three Swans Hotel.
October 2009: Legacy increases its presence in Wales with 8 hotels in the country by taking on the management of the 4 star deluxe, Llangoed Hall Hotel in the Brecon Beacons, the former retreat of the late Sir Bernard Ashley.
January 2010: The newly refurbished Frogmill Hotel on the outskirts of Cheltenham compliments the group with 32 deluxe guest rooms and holiday cottages.
February 2010: Legacy commences the representation of The Stirk House Hotel in Lancashire as an 'associate marketing partner'.
May 2010: Legacy commences the representation of both the Sporting Lodge Inn Leigh/Manchester and the Sporting Lodge Inn Middlesborough as 'associate marketing partners' adding an additional 209 bedrooms to the portfolio.
